In Memory of Gene Lewis

LEWIS,
S. GENE Gene was born in Watseka, Illinois on September 30, 1940 and died
August 15, 2005. He moved to San Diego in 1944 with his family and resided
here continuously for 61 years. Gene loved San Diego. He attended Mission
Bay High School where he played football for the Buccaneers, and graduated
from there in 1958. Following High school, Gene attended San Diego State
College where he graduated with Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Mechanical
Engineering. He worked at several local companies including General
Atomic, and General Dynamics. At General Dynamics he was part of the Atlas
Centaur engineering team. Most recently he was employed at Boeing
Huntington Beach working on the Delta IV heavy launch vehicle program. We
will all miss his quick wit and humor, his smile, his love, his leadership
and intellect. He will be missed by his mother, Marjorie Lewis; his sister
and brother-in-law, Connie and Fred Rieman; his brother and sister-in-law,
David and Patrice Lewis, his nephews and nieces and his entire extended
family of friends. Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2005 from
4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a Memorial will be held on Saturday, August
20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at El Camino Mortuary, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd.
