THE BIG 5-0 FIVE DAY EVENT

Second Day

Friday, October 3, 2008

Morning

back-to-school

Karen Young is organizing a tour of Mission Bay High School for our second day event of the reunion.

A full schedule has not yet been completed, but the tour will include the new MBHS library, the Vietnam War Memorial that bears the names of two of our classmates, Walter Stevens and David Rose* and the MBHS media center. The Jr. Marine Corps ROTC will present a short program. We hope to include the gym, athletic field, auditorium and a visit with the principal, Cheryl Seelos.

*The Vietnam War Memorial has been redone, and the newly refinished plaque is now in place.    It  will be dedicated at a ceremony on the morning of October 3, 2008.

Despite the changes in the past 50 years, you will remember the campus.

Karen has just assumed this responsibility and the school's administration is off for the summer. Final plans will be made in early September. We are certain the tour will be a worthwhile experience.

When:  Friday, October 3, 2008  ; 9:30 AM for the dedication ceremony; 10 AM for the school tour
