Aloha to all of you '58 Bucs!
The five day party to celebrate our 50th is just two and a half months
away!!! And, WE NEED YOU THERE!!!
IT
IS TIME TO START OILING UP THOSE KNEE JOINTS AND BIKE PEDALS!!! BECAUSE
ON OCTOBER 6TH WE HAVE THE HISTORIC "MBHS '58 BUCCANEER BIKE AND WALK ON
MISSION BAY" AND... THE "BIG 5-0" LAST LUNCHEON AT THE MISSION BAY
HILTON HOTEL'S ACQUA RESTAURANT. These are the final
events of our reunion, and, you guessed it, WE NEED YOU THERE!!!
These will be very casual (bordering on organized chaos) events, with
the emphasis on visiting with small groups of classmates on whose lives
you still need to catch-up. CHUCK
MC GREGOR WILL LEAD THE WALK, AND I WILL LEAD THE BIKE RIDE,
beginning at 9:30 AM, Monday, October 6, on the bay side of the Hilton
Hotel, between their pool area and boat concession. Actually,
CHUCK & I will START the walk/ride... Then you can walk or ride at your
own pace, falling in with others with similar paces, and go for as
short, or as long, a bike or walk as you wish!
Some classmates have already told me that they intend to go a half
block, or so, to the first available park bench or tree, and sit down
for some serious visiting! The avid walkers can continue with Chuck
toward De Anza Cove & return back to the Hilton by 11:20.
Gaylord "Duke" and I will probably bike for eight to ten miles north
along the bay, then west by DeAnza Cove, the golf course & the high
school; then south through Crown Point, on the bay and over the bridges,
by Sea World, and back to the Hilton,
where,
hopefully, all reunion attendees will meet on the bay side boardwalk by
the boat concession at 11:20. Then, we will go in to the Acqua
restaurant for lunch at 11:30 AM. (Sandwiches, Salads with
chicken, or shrimp, etc., and Burgers average $13.00 in price).
Remember, If you don't choose to bike or walk, just meet the gang on the
Hilton's bay side boardwalk at 11:20. Then go in to lunch at the
Hilton's Acqua restaurant! The fun thing about this 50th reunion
is the fact that there will be several very informal events, as well as
the Saturday night dinner-dance. So, it will be much easier to visit
with many more people than at past reunions.
Please let me know that you will join us
on the 6th for one or both of these events!!! (We need to know the
number of people for lunch!) My email is
nla@hawaii.rr.com. Shoot
me a newsy note with your RSVP.
With much aloha and warm regards, Nancy Albright Albright,
Kailua-Kona, Big Island of Hawaii, 808-345-6487
P.S. I hope that you are checking out our class' very own website,
www.taroga.org on a regular basis!!! Bill Rice did such an awesome
job of creating it, and maintaining it for several years. Then Vicki
Paul took it over until her passing. Now, Marie Gilmour Davila is
doing a great job with it! The home page has the 50th Reunion events,
and their chairpersons' names and emails, listed. Please reply to each
of these with your RSVP's.
