Wow ! Coming into
the holidays already. It
is hard to believe that
the reunion took place
over a month ago now.
We have some special
days to celebrate this
month.
November 11 is Veterans
Day. I knew it was
a day to honor veterans,
but had forgotten that
it had previously been
Armistice day, and was
first celebrated in
1921. It was
changed to Veterans Day
in 1954 (while we were
still in junior high).
Here's more.
I saw this just today,
and thought it worth
passing on with no
comment.

Veterans Day –
November 11
Tuesday, November
11, is a day to
honor all the men
and women who have
served in America’s
armed forces and to
thank them for that
service. For
information on the
history of Veterans
Day, this year’s
national and
regional
observances, to read
the President’s 2008
Veterans Day
Proclamation or to
download this year’s
Veterans Day poster,
visit
www.va.gov/vetsday.
November 27
is Thanksgiving
Day. Most
of us know the
story of
Thanksgiving and
the Pilgrims and
all, so I won't
go into that.
I do want to draw your attention to the front page of the Taroga.
There is a
little picture
there with just
one of the
things for which
we should be
thankful.
That picture has
been on the
front of the
Taroga web site
since I first
saw the site, so I am
guessing it was
put there from
the start. It
does remind us
that we have
many other
things for which
to be thankful.
Me, I am
thankful for
living here in
San Diego, and
for having made
so many friends
of
classmates I had
never known.
I am also
thankful for the
opportunity of
working on the
web site; I am
learning
something
everyday.
I am really
thankful for the
chance of
meeting so many
other classmates
at the reunion
(although I
didn't get the
chance to talk
to many), and
visiting them on
the phone, and
by e-mail.
I am also
healthy, but not
necessarily
wealthy or
wise--but I'm
working on that.
If I started
listing things
to be thankful
for it would use
up the whole web
site, so I will
stop and just
wish you all a
HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!!!
